The film was developed and shot entirely while Natalie Morales and Mark Duplass were in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. Duplass had worked with Natalie Morales on the TV series Room 104 and suggested they collaborate on an idea he had about a Spanish teacher and a man taking lessons from her.[7]

This consumable Student Workbook, used alongside the required Instructor Guide, gives you everything you need to spend more time teaching grammar and less time preparing lessons, making copies, or gathering supplies.

We love this curriculum. The lessons are crystal clear and avoid fluff. I offered to switch grammar companies to my 8 year old daughter and she insisted that we stick with this book because the lessons are short and sweet and she is learning a ton! I appreciate that this is classical education.

Open Culture scours the web for the best educational media. We find the free courses and audio books you need, the language lessons & educational videos you want, and plenty of enlightenment in between.

A common exclamation from parents and children alike is how BEAUTIFUL these books are. When studying a piece of fine art in other language programs, they were always reproduced in black and white. We would not settle for that in our Language Lessons books. Each book contains FULL COLOR reproductions for every picture study lesson! This makes a HUGE difference in how much the child will enjoy the picture study! The writing in each volume is ina standard manuscript font, with a large-sized print appropriate to age levels. There are plain lines to copy the copywork lessons on and write on. Consumable (you need one for each child), Just $28.95 each.I had begun this school year with (another language program) and they hated it. It was a battle everyday and truly they got very little out of it. I found your books by accident, but I want to say thank you. The boys are getting alot out of this and finally the six year old is remembering his letters. Maybe he needed the short small lessons with pictures and small copywork assignments. My nine year old seems to like it; I have no complaints from him . He asks a lot of questions about the pictures and even tries to make up stuff about them. So I wanted you to know how good your product is for them we will be buying the next level. Dacia C.

Objectives: Using physical activity in the teaching of academic lessons is a new way of learning. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of an innovative physically active academic intervention ("Fit & Vaardig op School" [F&V]) on academic achievement of children.

Methods: Using physical activity to teach math and spelling lessons was studied in a cluster-randomized controlled trial. Participants were 499 children (mean age 8.1 years) from second- and third-grade classes of 12 elementary schools. At each school, a second- and third-grade class were randomly assigned to the intervention or control group. The intervention group participated in F&V lessons for 2 years, 22 weeks per year, 3 times a week. The control group participated in regular classroom lessons. Children's academic achievement was measured before the intervention started and after the first and second intervention years. Academic achievement was measured by 2 mathematics tests (speed and general math skills) and 2 language tests (reading and spelling).

Conclusions: Physically active academic lessons significantly improved mathematics and spelling performance of elementary school children and are therefore a promising new way of teaching.

LLT books cover all of the elements of language arts for grades two through six except reading, phonics, and spelling in the younger grade levels. The Grade 5 and Grade 6 books need supplementing for spelling, literature, and composition instruction.

Like the original Serl books, LLT is very much a Charlotte Mason approach to language arts with its underlying presupposition that exposure to the excellent use of language is in itself an important method of learning. LLT also bears the Charlotte Mason hallmarks of narration, picture study, copywork, oral composition, dictation, drawing, and poetry memorization.

Utilizing the language and cultural expertise of our students, we offer informal language lessons that are open and free to UW Tacoma students. The informal language lessons are an opportunity for students to practice foreign languages that are not offered for credit at UW Tacoma.

You will receive a certificate of attendance for this course upon completion of all 8 lessons and quizzes. Keep in mind, that this certificate does not qualify/certify you to be an interpreter, teach ASL, or earn professional development/continuing education hours.

Parents need to know that Language Lessons is a two-person, video chat-based dramedy about the growing virtual friendship between a Costa Rica-based Spanish teacher (Natalie Morales, who also directed and co-wrote the script) and her new weekly student (Mark Duplass, who also produced and co-wrote). Expect occasional strong language ("f--k," "p---y," etc.) and a scene in which one of the characters is drunk. There's also a difficult conversation about a sudden accidental death; a grieving character throws up, in shock. Although the movie has only two characters, they represent different backgrounds, cultures, social classes, sexual orientation, and more. Families with teens can discuss the movie's messages about online/virtual relationships. 041b061a72
